N C L's Role in Community Development

  NCL is conscious of its responsibility towards its Corporate Social Responsibility. Under the community development programme, tribal sub-plan and special component plans encompass various measures to provide different facilities to the local people living in the nearby area. Some of works carried out by the company are given below:

Rehabilitation Village 

 

15379 ha of land acquired as on 31.03.2007.

Employment provided to the land oustee as per existing norms.

Displaced families rehabilitated at alternative sites.

A plot of 2400 sq. ft. is provided in rehabilitated villages to construct dwelling units or Rs.50000=00 paid in lieu of plot as per the choice of PAP.

Five nos. of rehabilitated village provided with facilities like schools, Tube wells/ hand pumps, Wells, Link Roads, Community Halls, Health Centres, Street Lighting, Shopping Centres, Panchayat Bhawan, Children Parks/ play ground and Tree Plantation.

Steps taken to generate self-employment potentials for PAPs, tribals and economically weaker society.

Short tem courses in Carpentry, Plumbing, Carpet Weaving, Dairy and Poultry Farming introduced for these persons.

A few Sewing Machines, Type Writers, Looming Machines also provided free of cost to these people.

N C L's ROLE IN REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT (SINGRAULI AREA)

NCL has undertaken several development activities in and around Singrauli Area. These activities have significantly contributed towards the overall development of the region.

 

·         NCL has undertaken development activities including infrastructure facilities  

·         Maintenance & repair of Roads- Shaktinagar to Singrauli & Morwa to Bargawa.

·         Drinking water- Hand Pumps, Wells.

·         200 Bedded hospitals.

·         Health Centers at 5 Rehabilitation Villages.

·         Mobile Ambulance Services for Red Cross Society.

·         Afforestation- Plantation of 192.3 crore plants till 31 March 2007.

·         Setting up Rehabilitation Villages with all infrastructural facilities such as Roads, Drains, Street Lighting, School, Health Centre, Shopping Center, Community Building, Park etc.

·         Employment at NCL and through contractors.

·         Environmental protection - in addition to afforestation, CHP , dust suppression etc.

·         Mobile van fitted with MMR for early detection of TB, Cancer and other diseases- Rs. 2.5 lakhs.

·         Sidhi Hospital- Rs. 2.5 lakhs.

·         Women tailoring training in batches of 20 each.

·         PAPs Computer training at APTECH in batches of 12 PAPs free of cost.

·         Provided 1.5Lakhs fish seeds to Mudwani Dam for benefit of villagers.

·         Provided 2 Nos. boat & net for fishing by villagers of Mudwani village.

 

 

NCL HAS PLANNED FOR THE FOLLOWING DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES

·         Afforestation @ Rs. 1.25 crores per annum.

·         Indigenous People's Development Plan in the villages comprising of asset making tasks such as Roads, Hand Pumps, Wells, Irrigation Facilities, School Buildings.

·         Setting up rehabilitation village at Chandrapur.

·         Environment protection in addition to afforestation, dust suppression system, ETP.

·         Nurses Training Institute.

·         Motor Cycle, Scooter repair training center.

·         Vegetation on reclaimed OB dumps by PAPs.

·         Piciculture.

·         Bamboo plantation for the benefit of PAPs.
